Peer Services & Street Outreach -
Metro Denver, CO
SafeSide provides peer-led outreach and recovery navigation at shelters, day centers, courts, streets, parking lots, and community partner sites across Metro Denver. Our peer recovery coaches build trusted relationships and connect people experiencing homelessness with Medicaid, treatment, medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), housing, benefits, transportation, and other recovery supports. Foundation funding helps stabilize this work and cover critical outreach and engagement that Medicaid does not reimburse.
Current partner locations include City of Arvada, Mission Arvada Day Shelter and Housing Navigation Center, the VOA Navigation Center in Lakewood, The Refuge in Broomfield, Family Tree, and Open Door Ministries in Denver, along with additional community and street outreach locations.
The Pueblo Project -
Pueblo, CO
Through a contract with the City of Pueblo, SafeSide operates Pueblo’s city-run homeless shelter and provides comprehensive, recovery-oriented support for people experiencing homelessness. Beyond shelter, residents can access wraparound services including peer recovery coaching, housing navigation, behavioral health connections, employment support, legal assistance through community partners, dental services, and pop-up health clinics. SafeSide works closely with the City of Pueblo and Mayor Heather Graham to keep services responsive to community needs, strengthen local partnerships, and connect residents with the supports they need to move toward stability, housing, and long-term recovery.
