Donna Aliff Pet Relief Shelter
Help us reach our $250,000 goal to build a safe, temperature-controlled pet shelter onsite.
President of Pueblo City Council Mark Aliff has pledged a contribution to begin the Donna Aliff Pet Relief Shelter. This honors the legacy of his late wife, Donna, and allows The Pueblo Shelter to expand services for one of the most vulnerable populations in our community. Donna had an unwavering commitment and intense compassion for the pets of those affected by homelessness, and Mark sees this as a way to honor Donna’s commitment to the care of the animals and the well-being of their human owners.

We need your help to meet our $250,000 fundraising goal. Funds will provide the kennel unit and concrete slab, electrical hookup, dog run room, and turf installation for a pet relief area.
One of the largest barriers to new clients receiving the care and services they need for stable housing is the lack of safe and accessible shelter with their pet. A temperature-controlled pet kennel onsite will allow individuals to safely house their pet while they remain on the property in one of the individual non-congregate units.
Your donation will also help cover ongoing costs such as food, leashes, water and food bowls, and other expenses associated with housing dogs onsite.
