Mission Statement
SafeSide Foundation is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to reducing homelessness and housing instability by expanding access to shelter, peer-led recovery support, mental health resources, and practical pathways to long-term stability. We serve individuals and families impacted by homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges, incarceration, job loss, poverty, and family disruption throughout Colorado's Front Range and Southern Colorado communities.
As a by-and-for organization, the majority of our staff, leaders, and volunteers have personally experienced homelessness, addiction, incarceration, recovery, or housing instability. Our approach is grounded in lived experience and a compassion-first philosophy. We believe lasting stability is built through relationship-based support, community collaboration, and practical solutions that address both immediate needs and long-term outcomes.
Through partnerships with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, local businesses, and community stakeholders, we develop and operate programs that expand access to housing, recovery support, essential services, and community resources. SafeSide Foundation is also the operator of the Pueblo Shelter, providing emergency shelter, meals, and stabilization services for individuals experiencing homelessness in Southern Colorado.
